This event really opened my eyes to see how beautiful our culture is. From the music to the dancing to the food and clothes, they all played an important role in Igbo culture. When we came back home from our trip I took it upon my self to learn more about our culture.

I started to read more books such as “Things Fall Apart” by Chinua Achebe, going to Igbo lectures at Atlanta Igbo School with my dad to learn Igbo language and about our Igbo community and so many other things. Right now I am learning how to speak Igbo and I am attending classes as well.

Learning my culture is very crucial for me because it helps me to be proud of my identity as an Igbo girl.
