CISA is the Council of Igbo States in Americas representing all the Igbo States from Nigeria in Americas. CISA – the Council of Igbo States in Americas, was chartered by the US, Canada, and other Americas National Igbo State Organizations comprising the Abia State Association – USA; the Anambra State Association Worldwide- ASA-World; the Anioma –USA; the Enugu-USA; Ebonyi-USA (in formation); and the Imo State Congress- Americas/ Canada, to represent as one united, indivisible entity, the interests of roughly four million Igbos in the Americas.
CISA is a member of Igbo World Assembly (IWA) that represents the Apex National Organizations in the various countries in the world such as USA, UK, Spain, Finland, Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa and Canada.
CISA leadership rotates in alphabetical order among the Igbo speaking states that constitute the Council of Igbo States in Americas. The states are Abia, Anambra, Anioma-Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, and Rivers States. Member states are represented in CISA by their national association President.
The Council of Presidents of the Council of Igbo States in Americas (CISA) has elected Mr. Chudi Asidianya as President and head of a new leadership to pilot the affairs of the organization for the next two years. The leadership change of guard conducted in accordance with CISA Bye-Laws was ratified by CISA Governing Council at the first Council meeting held on January 5th, 2014.
CISA is committed to working, collaborating and partnering with all to leverage Ndi Igbo in Diaspora as a strategic partner on Igbo advocacy. Its goal is the advancement of Igbo Culture and Arts in Americas and across the globe.
CISA believes in working with any, and all organization(s) whose main goal(s) and genuine aspirations are founded on the betterment of Ndi Igbo at home and in Diaspora. Our determination and commitment to this cause has never been stronger and so is our support for our new leadership.
